“The image is an aerial view of Cantillana, a town in southern Spain that is the birthplace of the artist José Pérez Ocaña.

Seen from the sky, the buildings of this city together become letters that can generate messages, slogans, funny, vulgar, or anecdotal words. The unique rule is to use these letters.

These words will be born during the game/performance, proposed by the artists Diane Guyot and Fred Pradeau, and will be silkscreened on the city maps.”

Text by Bombon Project for the announcement of the activity.

During Barcelona Gallery Weekend, Edition 2017, the contemporary art gallery Bombon Project was presenting a solo show of Diane Gyote de Saint Michel called I Love U Jungle.

Joana and Bernat, the founders of the gallery, the team of BGW and I decided to organise a workshop with the artist in Ocaña and to connect it to the silkscreen equipment in Ocaña. As Diane was coming from France, I thought that we could host an artist and open an art residency as the building of the local above was empty and owned by Joaquima Laguna, the founder of Ocaña.

HI HA, a workshop with this triple collaboration and the participation of Diane Gyote de Said Michel was the beginning of Ocaña Art Residency.

Diane Gyote de St Michel, together with Frédéric Pradeau created apart from the aerial view of Cantillana a target installation hanged by the ceiling of the main space of Ocaña as well as an installation in the public space that was composed of fabrics in the same colours as the target that were hanged by the balconies of the building.
