Maika means Mother in Bulgarian, and this is a two-channel video installation that is dedicated to female fertility and the difficulties some women experience to get pregnant.
In both videos, we see a female barefoot. In one of the videos, the protagonist is climbing stairs leaving an egg, and in the second one, the same protagonist is walking down the stairs, stepping on the planted eggs and crushing them.
The sound is composed of fly noise and a baby cry.
Both videos are projected on inflated 3-meter-high eggs which were specially produced for the piece.
