I met Dorothée Selz at a dinner at Marta Tatjer´s house; they were long-time friends. I was completely intrigued by this elegant French woman, and the next day I researched her work and was absolutely mesmerized by it.

“She creates edible, ephemeral sculptures
which people can really eat. She conceives her sculptures according to the architectural context – museums, galleries, and other places.(…)
Her edible offerings are imagined so as to interweave: visual concept, gustative and humor. The work comes to life in a festive way thanks to the active participation of the public who can “taste what it sees”. The idea is that this ephemeral art lives on in memories. She is close to the experimental spirit of the Eat Art, created by Daniel Spoerri.”

Marta Tatjer was about to create the celebration for the fourth anniversary of the iconic local in Barcelona, Ocaña and I insisted to commission Dorothée Selz en edible installation for the celebration. We start working and several months later, Dorothée and all of us installed her Grande Espiral Lúdica from where over one thousand people who were invited to the party were grabbing small pieces of colorful food. The installation was a visual, gustatory, and playful surprise, a tribute to José Perez Ocaña and his free world.
