I remember a very close friend of mine, the Spanish movie producer Luisa Matienzo, telling me one day, "Dessis, you should watch Ochéntame otra vez.” And as I went home, I could easily say that I had spent a couple of days without leaving my place and was staring at the screen obsessively. I was blown away by what I was seeing. Ochéntame otra vez is a broadcast for freedom, a glimpse of recent history that develops tolerance regarding differences.
A few years later, I was amazed to learn that another friend of mine, Jordi Barrachina, is the author and director of Ochéntame otra vez, and we immediately decided to present the chapter: Mamá, soy gay on the 14th of February in Ocaña, creating a debate surrounding the topic of freedom of sexual expression.
The panel discussion was nurtured by the meaningful thoughts of iconic personages such as Nazario, Maria Giralt, Isabel Franc, and Jordi Petit, moderated by Jordi Barrachina.
